Here in New England, we have had more rain than sunshine this summer. This has unfortunately caused outdoor activities to be cancelled and everyone in search of fun things to do inside. Here are a few rainy summer day ideas and of course what to wear to each activity.
Going to the movies is the probably the easiest way to escape the bad weather. Order your tickets, get some popcorn and sit in front of the big screen watching the latest releases. Naturally I gravitated towards the Barbie movie since it premiered yesterday and is all the talk right now. I mean what girl doesn’t love to get dressed up??? Even if you don’t want to watch this movie, you can still grab your Ken and head out for a movie date.
A day at the New England Aquarium in Boston is always an exciting way to enjoy a rainy day. If the Aquarium is not your thing, there are many other options like the Museum of Fine Arts, Stewart Gardner Museum, Museum of Science, etc… Naturally not all of you live within driving distance of Boston. Search your area for a local museum that interests you and enjoy a day of exploring. It’s always a bonus if you can find a restaurant near your choice and pop in after for a bite to eat.
Sometimes the weather keeps us from wanting to venture outside altogether. Throw on some casual clothes, turn on the oven, bake your favorite treat, grab some board games and voila you’ve got yourself a fun family day.
