We are at that point during the summer where there seems to be a bit of a lull.
Family summer vacations to lake houses or beach retreats have already been taken. And now we find ourselves saving up for those end of summer get aways before it’s back to school.
Some of us are unable to take a summer holiday due to work/family obligations, financial reasons, health issues, etc…
So how do we make the most of our summer months without traveling? A staycation!

What summer is complete without a day at the beach? Lounging on the sand, swimming in the salty waves with the sun on your face is exactly what summer should be.

One of my favorite things about summer is going to (or hosting) a cookout. Spending a summer afternoon with loved ones is simply the best!

A hike around your local state park is a great way to get some fresh air and light exercise. It’s a win in my book.

Strolling through the local farmers market collecting fruits, vegetables, flowers, honey, jams or whatever else you find makes for a delicious way to spend a weekend day.
This year my little family had to push off any summer travel until the end of the season. In January I found out that I would be having shoulder surgery in February and would be in physical therapy through June. Around the same time, my husband found out that a work project had a deadline the beginning of August.
So, we have been trying to make the most of our summer staycation. Hopefully you found some inspiration for your own staycation.
Please feel free to pass along any ideas or recommendations, I’d love to hear them!!!
