30 Day Fitness Challenge

This past February I had surgery on my shoulder, a bone spur tore the rotator cuff and detached my bicep. Two weeks before the surgery my surgeon told me to discontinue my daily workout and that walking should be my only form of exercise.

Following the surgery, I began physical therapy. For the first two months I worked with my amazing physical therapist to restore the range of motion in my shoulder. The next two months we worked on building strength in the shoulder so that I could resume my previous workouts.

Even though I am still under the care of the surgeon and have a weight restriction; I graduated from physical therapy the end of June. It was and still is my goal to get back into my previous workout routine.

Yet following over four months of not having any exercise program other than physical therapy, I found myself lacking the inclination to meet my goal.

In order to get motivated, take accountability and stay on track to meet my goal I have decided to challenge myself to a “30-day fitness challenge”. Beginning August 1st, I made it my mission to get into the gym and exercise for a minimum of 20 minutes every day.

Of course, if I am working out; I need to have the proper attire to do so comfortably.

Now that I have shared this, I will use this post to help keep me on track to meet my personal fitness goals. Thank you for helping me take accountability to get back into my workout routine. I’ll keep you posted as I progress towards successfully completing my 30-day challenge.
