Here in New England, we have had a strange weather pattern this summer. We were either drowning under day after day of rainfall. Or suffering from oppressive humidity when the sun chose to show its beautiful self.
Suddenly towards the latter half of August, we suddenly had deliciously warm days and cooler nights. We thought we finally had the perfect summer weather, just as we approached Labor Day and let’s face it, what a lot of us refer to as the end of summer.
Labor Day weekend was beautiful and many of us thought it was our reward for such a lousy summer weather wise.
But alas! Labor Day weekend ended with humidity levels climbing and the first full week of September turned unbearable. A heat advisory was issued. We recorded our highest temperature of the year. Some public schools either closed or issued half days.
Just as everyone began to gear up to wear all those coveted fall fashion finds; we found ourselves still reaching for summer dresses, flip flops and either hiding in the air conditioning or sneaking in pool time after work/school.
So how can we show off those fall purchases we’ve made when summer has decided to extend its visit? Here we have put together some wear now, wear later ideas of how to mix the two seasons.
